The 2009-2010 ISACA® New York Metropolitan Chapter election concluded on May 31, 2009 with our largest voter turnout ever! We had 364 members voting this year who participated using our eBallot online voting software. According to the outgoing Chapter President, Patrick Grant, this represented an almost 100% increase in voting by our membership. Congratulations to our newly elected Board Members! Click here to review this year's election results. | | Annual Gala! The 2009 Annual Gala and Wasserman Award Dinner was hosted on Monday, June 15th aboard the luxury all glass yacht Bateaux. The event featured a sunset dinner cruise down the Hudson River to the Statue of Liberty. Attendees had an opportunity to meet this year's winner of the Wasserman Award, along with our new board and many in ISACA's International Leadership. New York Metropolitan Chapter | Chapter Member Recognized: Emma Arakelyan, Senior Manager at Ernst & Young (and a Director on our Chapter's Board), recently caught the attention of Business Class Magazine, a monthly magazine published in Armenia, which covers distinguished people and leaders from local and global economics and management. Her journey from Armenia as a young economist to New York is an inspiring one, and Emma is a great role model not only for American women, but also for women in her home country. "The world needs more active women who are driven to succeed, influence and lead organizations," she said. As a special thanks for our purchase of their product, a donation to Sustainable Harvest International was made in honor of our chapter. Thirty tree seedlings were given to impoverished farming families in Central America. As the trees grow, they will prevent erosion, provide food and income for the families, and help to restore the rain forest. This donation will help to create a lasting legacy of poverty alleviation and environmental protection.
